Client receives CSN grant

Earlier this year clients in our Placement program filled out applications for Recovery Grants to be awarded through the Mental Health Consumer/Survivor Network of Minnesota (CSN).  These grants are awarded based on the relevance of the purpose for the grant to the recovery-related goals.

In Curt’s case, his Recovery Grant Application expressed his desire for musical equipment, namely a bass guitar and amplifier.  Before suffering a traumatic brain injury a few years ago, playing with local area bands was something Curt loved to do.  Music is something Curt still loves, and has found it to be a great way to help him deal with depression and anger he has suffered with since his accident.

In late July, Curt received notice from CSN that he had been awarded a grant in the amount of $250.  With help from Joel Pennington at The Guitar Shop of Cambridge, Curt was able to use his grant money to purchase the bass guitar and amp a few weeks ago.
